major step towards future-ready education, the
National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is introducing
Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based textbooks and curriculum for schools across India. This initiative aims to equip students with
essential AI skills from an early age.
What NCERT is Planning
· A
special Textbook Development Team has been formed to prepare AI-focused textbooks.· Initially, the curriculum and textbooks will be prepared for
classes 11 and 12, targeting students who are about to enter higher education and professional courses.· From the
academic year 2026-27, AI concepts will also be
introduced to students in class 3, laying a strong foundation from the early years.
