“This Is the Final Chapter of EPS’s Political Career,” Says CM Stalin, Launching Sharp Attack Over 100-Day Employment Scheme Issue

Kokila Chokkanathan
Tamil Nadu chief minister M.K. Stalin launched a strong political attack on AIADMK leader and former chief minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) over issues related to the 100-day employment guarantee scheme. Speaking at a public event, stalin remarked that the controversy surrounding the scheme marks the “final chapter” of EPS’s political life.

Criticism Over the 100-Day Employment Scheme

The chief minister accused the previous AIADMK government of failing to properly implement the mahatma gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) during its tenure. He alleged that irregularities, delays in wage payments, and lack of transparency had directly affected rural workers, especially the poor and marginalized.

Stalin said that instead of protecting workers’ rights, the former government undermined the very purpose of the scheme, which was designed to provide livelihood security to rural households.

Strong Words Against the Opposition

Taking aim at EPS, the chief minister said that the former cm now lacks the moral authority to speak about welfare schemes, given his government’s past record. stalin claimed that the people of tamil Nadu have already rejected such politics, and recent developments only reinforce that verdict.

He further stated that attempts by the opposition to politicize the issue would not succeed, as people are fully aware of the truth.

DMK Government’s Stand

Highlighting the efforts of the current DMK government, stalin said his administration has taken steps to:

  • Strengthen the implementation of the 100-day employment scheme
  • Ensure timely wage payments
  • Improve transparency and accountability
He asserted that the DMK government remains committed to protecting workers’ welfare and dignity, particularly in rural areas.

Conclusion

Concluding his speech, chief minister stalin said that the controversy surrounding the 100-day employment scheme has exposed the failures of the previous regime. He reiterated that public welfare, not political opportunism, remains the DMK government’s priority, and claimed that such issues signal the end of outdated politics represented by the opposition.
