17 lakh (1.7 million) new beneficiaries across the state have been newly added to the
Magalir Urimai Thogai (Women’s Rights Grant) scheme. As part of this expansion,
₹1,000 monthly assistance has already been deposited directly into the bank accounts of the eligible women.
