Fastag: Pay Rs. 3,000 and travel free for a year..!?
The National Highways Authority of india (NHAI) has issued a new notification for motorists. Now, if you get a new FASTag (FASTag) based annual pass by paying Rs. 3,000, you will not have to pay any toll charges on national highways for an entire year. This measure is designed to simplify the journey of motorists and avoid the hassle of frequent recharges at toll booths. However, this pass is applicable only to non-commercial vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans.
How to activate the FASTag annual pass?: Activating this new pass is very easy. Users can get it through the Rajmarg yatra app or the official website of the National Highways Authority of india (NHAI). Before activation, you need to verify your vehicle and FASTag details and pay Rs 3,000. The pass will be activated within two hours of payment or for up to 200 trips on selected highways.
Existing users: Users who already have a FASTag do not need to get a new one. They can activate this pass on their existing FASTag.
KYC Details: To get the pass, they need to ensure that their KYC details are updated along with the Vehicle Registration Number (VRN).
Key points to remember - Cost savings: With this annual pass, users can save around Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 7,000 in toll charges in a year.
No recharge worries: No more worries about running out of money in FASTag during long journeys.
Trip definition: In closed toll plazas, a trip includes both entry and exit points. In open toll plazas, each time a toll plaza is crossed, it is counted as a separate trip.
Non-transferable: Since this pass is issued only for a specific vehicle, it cannot be transferred to another vehicle.
