The
madras high court today granted conditional bail to actors
srikanth and Krishna, who were arrested and imprisoned in a drug case. Former AIADMK executive Prashanth was arrested and sent to jail in a dispute that took place at a private bar in Nungambakkam, Chennai. During the
police investigation, it was revealed that actor
srikanth had purchased
drugs from Prashanth. Following this, actor
srikanth was arrested. Srikanth's friends
pradeep and Kevin were also arrested in this case. Following the investigation, the
police came looking for actor Krishna, claiming that he was also involved in the matter. Later,
krishna voluntarily surrendered.
Both the arrested actors
srikanth and
krishna had filed a petition in the
madras high court seeking bail. These petitions came up for hearing before Justice
nirmal Kumar. The
lawyer appearing for
srikanth argued that "no
drugs were seized from Srikanth." Similarly, the
lawyer appearing for
krishna argued that "the medical examination did not prove that
krishna used drugs."
After hearing the arguments of all the parties, Judge
nirmal kumar announced that the verdict on the bail petitions would be given today. Accordingly, the judge has ordered conditional bail for both
srikanth and
krishna today. The complete details of the bail conditions are not yet available.
