Rajinikanth's film Coolie, which was directed by
lokesh kanagaraj, is already generating a lot of buzz ahead of its release. The movie's theatrical rights are in high demand worldwide, even though just two teaser snippets have been released. Offers in the foreign market have reportedly reached ₹80 crores, which, if confirmed, would be a new record high for
tamil film.
According to reports, at least three prominent banners in the
telugu states have offered between ₹50 and ₹60 crores for the distribution rights. Despite the buzz surrounding the film,
sun Pictures is allegedly hoping for ₹70–80 crores. Even greater interest is being shown in
tamil Nadu, where trade circles estimate that the theatrical rights might bring in around 200 crores. Even by Rajinikanth's standards, this is impressive, and the hype has only grown because of the appearance of celebrities like
nagarjuna, Upendra, and Aamir Khan.
At premium prices, non-theatrical rights are also being offered for sale, such as OTT, digital, dubbing, and audio. Expectations are quite high for a chart-topping soundtrack that will further increase the film's appeal, especially since
anirudh ravichander is handling the music.
Because
nagarjuna is one of the primary protagonists in the production, there is a lot of conjecture that
annapurna studios may be able to get the Andhra–Telangana rights. Fans of
nagarjuna and Akkineni will be ecstatic if he also manages to get the
telugu rights and the
movie becomes a huge hit. Nagarjuna's role is already creating a lot of buzz. In anticipation of the film's
august 14 release date, which coincides with the premiere of
war 2, starring
hrithik roshan and NTR, pre-release festivities are apparently scheduled for July in
chennai and
august in Hyderabad.
