Under Operation Sindoor, india used loitering munitions or suicide drones. Loitering munitions are also called suicide or kamikaze drones. These are unmanned aerial weapons. Their specialty is to keep hovering in the sky above their target and destroy the enemy's hideout as soon as they get the command. They are known for their accuracy. Loitering munitions are used only once because they explode and get destroyed along with their target. Suicide drones were first used in the year 1980, but their use increased in the 1990s and 2000s. These drones have been used extensively in the wars of Nagorno-Kharbakh, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria, and Ukraine. In the year 2021, merchant ships are also being targeted by suicide drones.


Under Operation Sindoor, india has targeted nine terrorist hideouts in pakistan, including Jaish-e-Mohammed hideouts in Bahawalpur, Lashkar-e-Taiba hideouts in Muridke, and areas of Chak Amru, Sialkot, Bhimber, Gulpur, Kotli, Bagh and Muzaffarabad. During this time, no attack has been made on Pakistani military bases. The Defense Ministry informed about Operation Sindoor at 1.44 am on Wednesday.
