We usually get water for 7-8 hours, but now we get it for only 3-4 hours,” ravi Shankar, a resident of a gated community in Kondapur, told The Times.
Boreholes have dried up in many parts of the city, further exacerbating the water problem. “Earlier, water was available at a depth of 600 meters. But now, even after digging 1,200 meters, water is not available.” As a result, apartment complexes are completely dependent on private tankers. Each family has to buy water at a cost of Rs 2,500 per week. It is estimated that this could rise to Rs 3,000 in May and June.
