It is said that Antilia, one of the priciest homes in india, was constructed on Waqf Board property and is situated in the Parade Road neighborhood of Mumbai. In 2002, mukesh ambani paid approximately Rs 21 crores to the Waqf Board for a four-and-a-half-square-foot plot, according to a report by tv9 Hindi.
However, the Waqf Board's contention that its property could not be sold for private use, as stated in an Action Taken Report (ATR) submitted to the maharashtra Assembly, caused the land purchase to become contentious. Furthermore, the site was apparently sold to billionaire mukesh ambani, when the previous owner, Karim Bhai Ibrahim, had donated it to the Waqf Board for religious education and the construction of an orphanage.
The Ambani family may be forced to leave the land if the supreme court of india rules against them, as the case has been pending for a while.
