Nitin Gadkari Says Muslims Community Need 'More Education'
"In our society, the community that needs education the most is the Muslim community," Gadkari stated.
He said that "unfortunately, only a handful of professions have gained prominence within the Muslim community, such as running tea stalls, paan shops, scrap dealing, truck driving, and cleaning."
"Our society will advance if its members pursue careers as engineers, physicians, IAS officers, and IPS officers. He questioned, "What will happen to us in the future if we do not embrace science and technology, even if we pray in the mosque a hundred times?"
He emphadata-sized, taking inspiration from former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, "I think that a person becomes great by qualities, not by caste, sect, religion, language, or sex. For this reason, we shall not treat anyone differently based on their sex, caste, religion, language, or sect.
"Dr. Kalam pursued a career in nuclear science. He said that his contributions had made him well-known both in india and beyond.
Additionally, Gadkari declared that he had no interest in courting caste leaders for support and made a strong stand against caste-based politics.
"Caste leaders frequently visit me because I work in politics. But I'm clear: whether or not I receive votes, I'll live my life as I see fit," he declared.
He recalled a public gathering, saying, "I once told a gathering of 50,000 people, 'Jo karega jaat ki baat, uske kass ke maarunga laat' (I will kick hard anyone who talks about caste)."
The Union minister emphadata-sized the value of education for the advancement of society and the country overall, in addition to for individual gain.
"Education benefits more than just you and your loved ones. It advances both the country and society. "Your goal is to absorb this power," he continued. "Knowledge is power."
His comments, which support his views on merit-based advancement and the transformational potential of education, come amid continuing discussions over caste and religion in indian politics.
