Safeguarding personal information is more important than ever in the modern technological era. The unique identification authority of india (UIDAI) issues the 12-digit Aadhaar identification number, which is widely used for identity verification in private, public, and banking contexts.

However, because of privacy concerns, many people may not want to quote their entire Aadhaar number in every situation.

UIDAI has a unique Aadhaar card that protects your identity without disclosing your entire Aadhaar number to get around this problem.  Some of the Aadhaar number's digits are concealed in this version.  Important information is still accessible, though, so it can be used for authentication in a variety of settings.
What is a Masked Aadhaar?
To safeguard your privacy, the uidai created a unique version of your Aadhaar card called Masked Aadhaar. Only the final four digits of your Aadhaar number are visible in this, while the first eight digits (xxxx-xxxx) are hidden. Your name, portrait, and QR code are among the other details that don't change.

Based on a person's biometric and demographic information, uidai generates a 12-digit unique identity number called Aadhaar.
Why Use a Masked Aadhaar?
Protects Privacy: To lower the danger of fraud, the majority of your Aadhaar number is hidden.
Prevents Abuse: Protects your private information.
Widely Accepted: It is accepted as identity verification by the majority of organizations.
Convenient: For security purposes, you can share a masked Aadhaar rather than your entire number.

Where Can You Use a Masked Aadhaar?
Masked Aadhaar is valid for most identity verification purposes, such as:

Hotel bookings
Travel verification
Job verification
Is Masked Aadhaar Valid For Hotel?
Yes, a masked Aadhaar is accepted for hotel check-ins and other places where identity proof is required, as it is a valid ID document. However, for bank KYC and government subsidies, the full Aadhaar number may be required for a secure verification.
