American airlines said that the plane was a Boeing 737-800 had 172 passengers onboard, including six crew members. The airlines said that all the people were evacuated safely, reported.
"Passengers were evacuatedand the slides were deployed," a New York Post report quoted the airport as saying.
The passenger plane was parked at Gate C38 of the Colorado airport when it caught fire. The reason behind how the flames erupted is yet to be ascertained.
Some other videos also showed the airport crews working to extinguish the blaze as smoke continued to billow from the aircraft.
