Global Obesity crisis..!? What about our country?
A study has identified a new fact that the whole world is getting fatter, regardless of the country. Obesity is troubling people of all ages, regardless of whether they are young or old. Currently, more than half of the world's adult population is obese. It is estimated that by 2050, that is, in another half a century, this will cross 57 percent. The Lancet, a leading journal, has prepared this report by analyzing data from 200 countries. Obesity has been increasing rapidly in low-income countries over the past decade, and governments need to take urgent action to curb it, it warned. This research was conducted under the leadership of professor Emmanuel of the university of Washington in the United States. It was found that the number of obese people has now doubled compared to 1990. By 2021, half of the world's adults had become obese. Among those aged 25 and above, 1 billion men and 1.11 billion women were found to be suffering from overweight. If the same trend continues, it is said that by 2050, the number of obese adults could increase from 57.4 percent in men and 60.3 percent in women.
