At the worldwide
box office,
tollywood has made it a lucrative habit to have several films in the thousand crore range. Earlier entries in this category include Baahubali 2, RRR,
pushpa 2,
kalki, and others. However,
tollywood may be experiencing a fairly uninteresting and insignificant year in 2025 in terms of the thousand crore market. Not a single major
hero movie scheduled for release this year has the perseverance to reach the thousand crore milestone. Furthermore, given the type of lineup that is available, it is understandable that
tollywood, which is worth a thousand crore, may not even approach the 500 crore level this year.
Game Changer was the year's first star-hero
movie, and it did not do well at the box office. Hari Hara Veera Mallu is next on the list, and the film's producers remain optimistic about its
march 28 release date. Although the
movie is being marketed as an
indian endeavor, not much can be expected given the production's severe delays and low level of popularity outside of
telugu markets.
Even though
raja Saab is coming this year,
prabhas isn't exactly putting this
movie in the pan-India category. It should be recognized that this is by no means Prabhas' typical pan-India canvas attempt. It will be a
horror drama, and unless Maruthi creates a sensation that draws in pan-Indians, it may have regional commercial potential. NTR's
war 2 exists, but it's also not a traditional
telugu movie.
