The bcci is set to make a final decision on whether jasprit bumrah will be included in the indian team for the 2025 Champions Trophy. Doctors are set to examine Bumrah's scan results tomorrow and submit a report. In any case, bcci sources have said that bumrah will not be able to play in the group-stage matches of the 2025 Champions Trophy. However, the bcci has decided not to rush him out of the Champions Trophy team. bumrah will be dropped from the indian team for the Champions Trophy only if the doctors say in the medical report tomorrow that it will be a long time before he can play again.
 The final squad for the Champions Trophy series should be announced by february 12. If there is a need to change the team beyond that, then the change can be made only after getting the permission of the international Cricket Council's Technical Committee. However, it is said that the bcci is likely to not remove bumrah from the team even then. There is a plan to use bumrah only in knockout matches. Meanwhile, there is also an emergency plan in store to select Harshit Rana as a replacement for bumrah in the indian team. For that, Harshit Rana is currently playing in the ODI series against England. Arshdeep Singh and mohammed shami have already been included in the team for the Champions Trophy series as fast bowlers. Since hardik pandya will also act as a fast bowler, the indian team does not have a bowling problem. Even if bumrah is unable to play in the group stage matches, it is said that the indian team will manage with the three of them. Even if bumrah plays only in the knockout matches, it will be a huge strength for the indian team.
