BH-Series Rules Updated: Important Changes You Should Be Aware of
 
A new notice (GSR 879 E) bringing modifications to the Bharat Series (BH-Series) vehicle registration regulations was issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH). For the advantage of car owners who regularly move across states, these modifications are intended to broaden and streamline the procedure.
 
The Central Motor vehicles Rules, 1989, first established the BH-Series, which went into force on september 15, 2021. It eliminates the need for re-registration and enables smooth car registration between states.
 
What is the registration for the BH-Series?
 
The BH-Series registration mark is intended for those who move around a lot because of work transfers. It eliminates the trouble of having to re-register a car while relocating to a different state.
 
Who Is Eligible?
 
Employees of the Central or State governments
Workers in the private sector whose companies operate across four or more states or union territories
Documents Needed for Registration in the BH-Series
 
For those who work for the government:
 
For workers in the private sector, an official identity card or service certificate 2
 
An employment certificate from their employer attesting to the fact that their business is active in at least four states and territories
 
Important Modifications to the BH-Series Rules
 
Sale of a Vehicle to Any Buyer
 
In the past, BH-Series vehicles could only be purchased by qualified persons.
Owners of BH-Series vehicles are now free to sell their vehicles to anybody, including those who are not qualified purchasers.
Current Automobiles Can Convert to the BH-Series
 
In the past, BH-Series registration was limited to brand-new automobiles.
After paying the necessary road tax, owners of previously registered cars can now transfer their current number plate to a BH-Series plate under the new regulations.
 
Office/Home Registration Facility
 
The proposed adjustment to Rule 48 will facilitate the procedure by allowing owners to apply for BH-Series registration from the comfort of their home or place of business.
More Effective Ways to Stop Abuse
 
To lessen the possibility of abuse, private sector workers are now required to provide a working certificate as proof of eligibility.
Additional Flexibility for government workers
 
Government workers can now apply for a BH-Series registration using a service certificate in addition to an official identity card.
