Two recent medium-budget films, Bottle Radha by Guru Somasundaram and Kudumbasthan by Manikandan, have opened in cinemas and are getting good reviews. With consecutive hits from medium-budget films, 2025 has gotten off to a great start for Kollywood, since no high-profile releases have yet to come. Kollywood's first big release of the year is expected to be Vidaamuyarchi.

Many viewers and reviewers hailed Kudumbasthan as one of the most enjoyable films to come out in recent months after seeing it. Particularly well received was Manikandan's performance, which followed Good Night and lover as his third straight hit. In Kollywood, Manikandan appears to be gradually becoming a minimum-guarantee performer.

In a similar vein, viewers have also expressed gratitude for Bottle Radha by Guru Somasundaram. It's interesting to note that Bottle Radha and Kudumbasthan are both comedy-entertainers. Positive word-of-mouth has begun to increase ticket sales for evening and night screenings, despite the fact that both films had a poor start at the box office. How well these movies do at the box office in the days ahead will be intriguing to watch. Kudumbasthan is slowly getting crowd, but sadly as 'Vidaamuyarchi' is releasing the long run is impossible.
