It's becoming increasingly clear every day that having a lot of contacts in your pocket won't get you very far in Bollywood. This is particularly evident in abhishek Kapoor's "Azaad," which did not do well at the box office even though it had Nepo celebrity children like Rasha Thadani (the daughter of Raveena Tandon) and Aaman Devgan (the nephew of ajay Devgn).

Even though ajay devgn is a seasoned performer, the movie didn't do well, earning only Rs. 4.05 crores over the first weekend and, according to trade figures, Rs. 60 lakhs on Monday. This obviously shows that the audience's priorities have changed, with substance now taking precedence over name.

Taran Adarsh, a seasoned trade analyst, pointed to the film's inadequate screenplay and underuse of a number of performers as the main causes of its failure. "It was lacklustre," he added. To keep you interested, there needs to be some drama or ups and downs. However, there was nothing in this movie. There was absolutely no life in the first half.

While praising the performances of the newcomers, Taran adarsh reaffirmed that the film's weak script—which lacked the backing of mass ingredients—was a major factor in its failure. If bollywood wishes to remain in the game at all, it must wake up and take note of the shifting dynamics. The once-dominant bollywood may soon be referred to be "regional cinema" if it keeps going in this direction.
