'Tik Tok' is a mobile phone app that is popular worldwide. More than 17 crore people in the US are using this app. However, the US government took action against the app, alleging that the information recorded in this app was being shared with the Chinese government. The US had warned that the company should be sold to an American owner or face sanctions. Not accepting this, the Joe Biden government recently banned this app.
The supreme court stayed the case filed by the TikTok app company against this. In this situation, the ban imposed on the TikTok app in the US came into effect. It was removed from the apple iStore and google Play Store. The company has announced that it will temporarily stop the service of the TikTok app. It is noteworthy that the TikTok app has already been banned in India, citing security reasons. “We regret that a U.S. law banning TikTok will take effect on january 19 and force us to make our services temporarily unavailable. We're working to restore our service in the U.S. as soon as possible, and we appreciate your support. Please stay tuned.” a notification on the TikTok app read.
