The film crew has explained that they did not ask for Rs 5 crore compensation for using scenes from the film chandramukhi in Nayanthara's documentary. They have also stated that they gave permission to Nayanthara. Beyond the Fairytale, was released on Netflix in november 2024. In it, a 3-second scene from the film Naanum Rowdy Than was used, which led to a conflict between dhanush and Nayanthara. In this situation, another controversy has also arisen on the same matter.
In an interview with a YouTube channel, actor Chitra Lakshmanan said that she was unhappy that some scenes from the film chandramukhi were included in Nayanthara's documentary without the permission of the film's producers. This has sparked a new controversy. Nayanthara starred opposite Rajinikanth in the 2005 film Chandramukhi. Nayanthara used a scene from that film in her documentary without permission. Information spread on social media that the chandramukhi team has asked Nayanthara for Rs. 5 crore compensation for this. However, the chandramukhi producers have said that they will not take any legal action against Nayanthara. They have also denied the news that they have asked for Rs. 5 crore compensation. They have also said that they have given permission to use the scenes in the documentary.
Earlier, actor dhanush had filed a case against Nayanthara and her husband Vignesh Shivan for using some clips from the film Naumun Rowdy Than. dhanush had sent a notice seeking Rs 10 crore in damages for using a three-second video. The case was heard in the madras high court on november 27, 2024. Nayanthara's lawyer, who appeared then, said that they did not violate the copyright law. He said that the footage used in the documentary was in their personal storage and did not belong to Dhanush's company.
