Japanese Tourist says India Made Me Cry - "It's Hard to be Here"
"The majority of people are helpful when asked for assistance, and the cuisine is delicious. It's difficult to be here, though. The atmosphere is very overpowering and always noisy. Because of the overstimulation, I have occasionally sobbed in my room," she wrote.
Being harmed by loud music
According to the traveler, she had to endure loud music and the constant sound of firecrackers going off throughout the night. "It feels like total sensory overload since the honks, especially those of the trucks, are practically constant. Minor celebrations have been celebrated on the highways, where people have blocked traffic and played loud music and drums. She wrote, "I just wish things were quieter."
To cope with the loudness and avoid feeling overpowered all the time, the woman subsequently turned to indians for assistance.
Huge Support from Indians
"I am a very ear sensitive person and I relate with you too so you're not alone. A densely populated area would do that. However, a place where there are less people living could solve this," said one user.
"Stay Strong. Even us indians find it hard too. We just somehow learn to live with it over time," wrote another user.
"Not surprised. We are almost a billion and half people crammed into this loud but amazing country. I would take it as part of the experience & ear plugs are the easiest hack at least outdoors," suggested a user.
