After consuming two bottles of alcohol as part of a wager, a Thai social media star passed away. Thanakarn Kanthee, who goes as "Bank Leicester" online, was given 30,000 Thai baht (Rs 75,228) in exchange for consuming the bottles.

The 21-year-old frequently accepted similar challenges, which in the past involved exchanging money for wasabi and hand sanitizer. On december 25, Mr. Kanthee, who has an intellectual disability, came to a birthday celebration in Chanthaburi's Tha Mai neighborhood at around 11 p.m.
According to a bangkok Post article, Mr. Kanthee was offered 10,000 baht for each bottle of Regency whiskey and challenged to drink the entire 350ml bottle during the celebration.

Accepting the challenge, Mr. Kanthee, who was already inebriated, drank two bottles in twenty minutes. But alcohol intoxication quickly rendered him unconscious, and he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was subsequently declared dead.

A man was taken into custody.

A guy who recruited Mr. Kanthee to take on the challenge has been taken into custody by the authorities. Authorities raided the suspect's home to obtain evidence that may connect him to a gambling website, which led to the arrest.

Furious on the Internet

Social media users were incensed over the tragedy and questioned the partygoers for permitting the challenge to proceed. In one of the films, the revelers could still be seen celebrating as Mr. Kanthee passed away.

Following the incident, Mr. Kanthee claimed to have completed similar ridiculous feats to support his family in a social media post that went viral.

"I am willing to be bullied and insulted to just get scraps of money from the rich people to provide for my family," stated the message.
