Chennaiites, however, have recently adopted a new practice of creatively visualizing their affirmations and goals using what they refer to as a vision board.As she presents a vision board training to her attendees, Journal Owl founder Fazila Fahzath states, "With the vision board, you are not going to change your entire self, but make meaningful changes in your life." She says, "This is a place where young women can encourage and support one another." In her early twenties, Abinayaa S was filling her A3 chart with pictures of flowers, beaches, and libraries that she had collected from vintage magazines and carefully chosen stickers, as well as making a vision board that focused on her small company and professional objectives. "I am sticking to only attainable goals for the year, and this is like a little push to get going every day," she explains.
However, vision boards are neither a panacea nor a fad to follow out of FOMO. This is about writing down your vision for 2025. When choosing pictures to post on your board, it's important to maintain an open mind rather than having predetermined objectives, Ms. Fazila says. She continues, "It's just about using a vision board as a starting point, making space for the upcoming year, and clearing your mind."Chennai-based project manager Preethi G has been attaching pictures to her trip fantasies. As a daily reminder, I intend to put this on my desk. It is difficult for your memory to retain everything when you see your goals, which is why we put them on paper, she says.Another participant, soundarya Sekar, adds, "It is a way to pause, assess where I have been, and decide what to add next." "There were times I felt I didn't do enough, so creating a vision board helps me find satisfaction in my achievements," she says. Although these women's vision boards have varied meanings and personal associations, they all share a common belief: that they should enter the new year with a clear sense of purpose.
