It doesn't respect your dignity to take matters into your own hands: Pralhad Joshi to K'taka CM Siddaramaiah
Bengaluru, Dec 25 – Union minister for Food, Public Distribution, and Consumer Affairs, Pralhad Joshi, stated on wednesday that it is inappropriate for karnataka Chief minister Siddaramaiah to take the law into his own hands. "It does not data-align with your dignity," he remarked.
He made these comments while speaking to the media on Thursday, in response to the egg attack on bjp mla N. munirathna Naidu in Bengaluru, which was allegedly perpetrated by congress workers, and the alleged police excesses against bjp MLC C.T. ravi in a derogatory remarks case.
Pralhad Joshi responded to the allegations surrounding mla munirathna by asserting that legal processes are underway and that the court has granted him bail. He questioned whether the court had barred mla munirathna from visiting his assembly constituency.
munirathna had been hosting an event to honour former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in his constituency when eggs were thrown at him during the occasion. Addressing this deplorable incident and the ongoing alleged derogatory remark case involving bjp MLC C.T. ravi, Union minister Joshi underscored that such matters should be determined by the judiciary.
"Such behavior is reminiscent of former PM indira gandhi and her son Sanjay gandhi during the Emergency, and it is simply unacceptable," he stated. "Taking the law into your own hands, attacking others, or throwing eggs is completely condemnable," he expressed.
He also voiced concern over the prolonged delay in registering an FIR regarding bjp MLC Ravi's complaint. "Even today, there has yet to be an FIR filed based on C.T. Ravi's complaint; they are claiming it was initiated suo motu," he noted.
"When lawyers inquired as to why there was no complaint filed, officials allegedly mentioned that the case had been handed over to the criminal Investigation Department (CID)," the Union minister commented. Joshi insisted that an FIR should be filed first before transferring the case.
He questioned the rationale behind the suspension of khanapur Circle Inspector Manjunath Nayak, asking why the Belagavi police Commissioner or police Superintendent present at the time had not taken action. Union minister Joshi accused the congress of fostering a climate of fear and called into question the lack of direct communication from the police Commissioner in such circumstances.
"This type of behavior is intolerable in a democracy. In a democratic framework, actions need to comply with the law and the Constitution," he stated. Union minister Joshi also criticized the congress, asserting that they have consistently ignored the Constitution and B.R. Ambedkar, from Nehru's era to the present day. State bjp President B.Y. Vijayendra visited mla munirathna Naidu at K.C. General Hospital, where he is receiving medical care, and inquired about his condition. Following the visit, Vijayendra stated, "This isn't the first occasion where party MLAs have data-faced pressure through the abuse of the police. Previously, bjp mla Harish Poonja was falsely implicated in a case, and there was an effort to arrest him." In reference to the situation involving bjp MLC C.T. ravi, he remarked that the manner in which bjp MLC ravi was treated outside the Legislative Council raises questions. "Such actions can only occur with the implicit consent of the government. Such occurrences do not happen without interference from the ministers." Commenting on the egg incident involving bjp mla Munirathna, he remarked, "Today's incident is not trivial. While it's true that munirathna is facing legal matters and the courts are dealing with them, he is being coerced into resigning as an MLA. This forms part of a larger plot to force a re-election and elect their candidate." Vijayendra voiced his worries regarding the safety of bjp workers and their families, stating, "Our party members are extremely distressed. bjp leaders and MLAs are being targeted. Criminals are intimidating women and intruding into the homes of our party members in Munirathna's area. Such coercive tactics will fail. Let the investigation into mla munirathna continue, but targeting him under this guise is unacceptable." He also alleged that the congress government had removed Munirathna's security personnel, questioning, "Is he not an MLA? The removal of his security detail raises suspicions. It appears to be a calculated strategy so that if he is assaulted in the future, there will be no evidence or protection." Vijayendra called for an impartial investigation and denounced the actions against Munirathna, labeling them as "politically motivated" and "unfair." An egg was thrown at bjp mla munirathna in Bengaluru on wednesday, after which he held deputy chief minister D.K. Shivakumar responsible for the event. "This is an acid attack on me. The assailants filled acid inside the egg before throwing it at me," said mla Munirathna.
