Luigi Mangione might become a "zombie" after spending his first Christmas in the jail hellhole he shares with Diddy. This is the reason

Luigi Mangione, the Ivy League-educated individual accused of murdering UnitedHealth CEO Brian Thompson, has entered a not guilty plea to multiple charges. The accusations against him include first-degree murder, terrorism, illegal possession of a weapon, and forgery through the use of a counterfeit ID shortly before the murder, as reported by NBC News. Recent images from Mangione's court appearance showed him adopting a more carefree demeanor than previously, displaying a broad smile.

Mangione and Diddy are set to data-face the same judge. After waiving his right to an extradition hearing, Mangione was transported from pennsylvania to New York, where he is now confronting federal charges. Earlier in the week, it was revealed that he spent his first night in the same New York City federal detention center as the controversial rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs. He will also be marked by spending his first christmas at this facility. The high-profile cases of both inmates share more unexpected links than one might think. Currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn, Mangione has retained his prominent defense attorney, Karen Friedman-Agnifilo.

She is married to Marc Agnifilo, who has been supporting Diddy in his fight against sex trafficking allegations. According to the most recent updates in his case, the attorney representing Diddy will also take on Mangione's defense, managing both cases concurrently. Given Mangione's past life as part of a well-established family from Baltimore, experts believe that adjusting to the harsh realities of the infamous federal prison—previously home to figures like Ghislaine Maxwell and rappers R Kelly and 6ix9ine—will be particularly challenging for him, as noted by prison expert Larry Levine, founder of Wall Street Prison Consultants.

When discussing how the hollywood star might adapt in the New York prison, Levine remarked, "He's getting used to his new environment. His lawyers are grateful he's in New York and not in pennsylvania, making visits easier. So, he's simply getting acquainted with his current situation." In contrast to the conditions Diddy might be enduring, Levine presented a different perspective. "But [Diddy] can manage his situation. I just know [Mangione] is terrified, and they are likely trying to prescribe him medications," they observed. "They’ll probably try to put him on psych meds; he might end up acting like a zombie, that’s inevitable."

The Metropolitan Detention Centre, where both Luigi and Diddy are currently incarcerated, is reportedly plagued by issues such as "inmate fatalities and violence, pests, raw sewage problems, lack of staff, and a declining infrastructure." The expert went further, likening the living conditions of the accused CEO murderer in this notorious facility to "living in your bathroom." It's anticipated that Luigi will particularly struggle with the intensified effects of his environment, considering how dramatically his previous luxurious lifestyle has changed since the shooting incident in early December. Levine added, "You know, if he’s confined in a cell similar to the one Diddy was in for a while, it’s a very cramped space. Imagine living in your bathroom without a television or computer."

Emphasizing Luigi's background from a wealthy family with longstanding wealth, Levine stated, "We're talking about old, established millionaires." With his life completely transformed, "Now he might have cheese crackers and perhaps a plastic bottle of soda." The prison expert continued, "He’ll buy a honey bun. Everything there is generic; they don’t sell the real stuff in federal prisons. What’s it called, Mrs. Freshly? I had never heard of it until I went in."
