The parliament of south korea passed the impeachment motion against President Yoon Suk-Yeol on saturday (14 december 2024). A total of 300 MPs participated in the voting for this motion. In this, 204 MPs voted in favor of impeachment and 85 against it. After the impeachment was passed, President Yoon Suk-Yol was suspended from his post. Han Duck-Soo has taken over the responsibility asthe acting President in his place. In his first speech, Han said that his focus is on restoring normalcy in the country.

According to the Korea Times report, Yoon is being investigated for treason and betrayal after the suspension.
