As per report opposition leaders on wednesday defended their move to bring a no-confidence motion against rajya sabha Chairman jagdeep dhankhar and said they were forced to step up to save democracy as the “Chairman is the biggest disruptor of Rajya Sabha" and “his conduct has damaged the pride of the nation". congress chief mallikarjun Kharge while addressing a press conference on wednesday afternoon said that Dhankhar’s actions have hurt the dignity of India. The congress chief further stressed that there is no “personal fight" against the rajya sabha Chairman.Meanwhile Kharge also accused Dhankhar of “schooling like a headmaster" and stated that he does not allow the opposition side to speak on important issues in the Upper House. “Time and again opposition leaders are stopped from speaking. His fidelity is towards the ruling party instead of the Constitution and constitutional tradition," the congress chief said, adding, “He is working as a spokesperson of the government for his next promotion. I have no hesitation in saying that the biggest disruptor in rajya sabha is the Chairman himself."Moreover Kharge asserted that the opposition bloc stands united on this matter and the chairman compelled them to take this step. He further asserted that the since the past three years, Dhankhar gave the opposition no time or space to raise critical issues.
