Inflation Is A Big Challenge And It's Contagious Says Nirmala Sitaraman

On december 11, Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that "disruption" is the main cause of inflation, which is a huge global concern.

Restoring normalcy should be the top goal for the entire world this decade. Avoiding disruption is advised. The FM stated at CII's Global Economic Policy Forum 2024 that they are the primary source of supply chain disruption.
"Global inflation is a major problem. Disruption is the main culprit. We all have a responsibility to work toward restoring normalcy, including the government, business community, legislators, and public forums," she continued.
 
Sitharaman said that "even if it makes economic sense to constrain supply, just economics doesn't prevail." It focuses more on politics and strategy.
 
According to the finance minister, political astuteness is just as important in decision-making as economic acumen.
 
Furthermore, lessons learned from supply chains should inform us that industry must redata-align for reasons other than just economic ones, she continued.
 
Regarding climate change, Sitharaman stated that locating resources is difficult. "We must dedicate ourselves to constructing infrastructure that can endure the most severe whims of nature. It is necessary to examine climate issues from perspectives other than emissions.
