The november 14th release of Suriya's Kanguva, which was directed by Siruthai Siva, received unfavorable reviews from viewers and turned out to be a complete fiasco. According to speculations, the movie's dismal theatrical run would cause its OTT distribution on the amazon Prime OTT platform to occur earlier than anticipated.

With a budget of almost 350 crores, Kanguva is regarded as Kollywood's true Pan-Indian film and has been shown on more than 10,000 screens worldwide. Additionally, in order to secure North indian multiplexes, the team first secured an OTT arrangement with the amazon Prime OTT platform. They intended to distribute the film in OTT eight weeks after its theatrical release. This permits the film to show for a long theatrical run and an 8-week OTT window.

In addition to the film's graphics, the plot and script are the weakest and most out of date, according to the reviews left by viewers. Following the unfavorable reactions from both reviewers and viewers, there was little interest in seeing this film in cinemas, and the box office receipts were far lower than anticipated. According to rumors, Kanguva's OTT release is imminent since the team intended to shorten the OTT timeframe to four weeks.
