"Natarajan's loss cannot be compensated"..!?
Tamil Nadu fast bowler Natarajan, who was part of the Sunrisers hyderabad team until last year, was bought by the delhi Capitals team in the 2025 IPL mega auction. The fact that the Sunrisers hyderabad team did not buy him came as a shock to the team's fans. Sunrisers hyderabad head coach Daniel Vettori expressed regret over the inability to buy Natarajan. He explained that the loss of Natarajan cannot be compensated by anything and what was the reason for not being able to buy him. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Natarajan have been the main reasons for Sunrisers Hyderabad's bowling success in the last seven years. Natarajan is famous in the IPL circle for his yorker bowling. He has been praised by all cricket critics for his ability to bowl tightly in the last overs.
However, Sunrisers hyderabad released him before the 2025 IPL mega auction. Determined to build a strong batting team, the team retained Travis Head, abhishek Sharma, nitish kumar Reddy, Heinrich Klaasen, and captain Pat Cummins. Before Natarajan's name was included in the auction, Sunrisers hyderabad bought mohammed shami for 10 crores and all-rounder Harshal patel for 8 crores. Due to this, Natarajan was forced to pay a high price in the auction.

Delhi Capitals bought Natarajan for 10.75 crores. Speaking about not being able to buy Natarajan, Daniel Vettori said, "Nothing can compensate for the loss of Natarajan. Every team has to data-face such a difficult situation. We have to buy some players in the first part of the auction. Or we can wait till the end for an opportunity and buy a player. We can only do one of these." "When the names of mohammed shami and Harshal patel came up in the first part of the auction, we decided to take advantage of that opportunity. We felt that the price for them was low. So, we bought them," said Vettori. He said that he was unable to buy Natarajan because he had bought mohammed shami and Harshal Patel.
