Last week, Suriya's Kanguva debuted in cinemas. One of the most expensive productions in India, this Siva-directed big-budget movie has bobby deol as the primary antagonist Udhiran and Suriya in dual roles as Francis and Kanguva. Only about 8–10% of morning shows were occupied, which was a bad start for the movie at the hindi box office.
On its first day of release, Kanguva made between Rs 2 and Rs 2.5 crore, which is more than the hindi versions of indian 2. Given the unimpressive first reviews, it is still unclear if Kanguva will get enough attention to have a significant influence on bollywood on its first day, even with 6,500 hindi shows worldwide.
Kanguva sold around 7,500 seats in advance through well-known chains like PVRInox and Cinepolis, but sales outside of these theaters were very sluggish. Kanguva has received mediocre to unfavorable early reviews in hindi, and the situation doesn't appear promising at this time. It must now undergo a miraculous transformation in order to succeed in Hindi. The success of Kanguva is very important to Suriya since, other from his highly-received OTT releases jai Bhim and Soorarai Pottru, his recent films have not done well at the box office.
