IAS officer Amit Kataria features among list of top Civil Servants in India

Reportedly IAS Officer amit Kataria, a resident of Gurugram, is currently posted in Chhattisgarh. He has returned from central deputation after seven years. Kataria is reportedly the richest civil servant in the country. Like IAS Tina Dabi and IPS amit Lodha, who are well known for various reasons, Kataria made headlines while posted as collector in Bastar. He was seen wearing sunglasses when he met prime minister Narendra Modi. When the picture went viral, many pointed out that wearing sunglasses while meeting a high ranking government official is against protocol.

Meanwhile the incident occurred during prime minister Modi’s 2015 visit to Bastar, when raman singh served as chief minister of Chhattisgarh. A show-cause notice was issued to Kataria for this breach of protocol. amit Kataria, an alumnus of IIT, is recognised among the top ten wealthiest IAS officers in India. Serving in the chhattisgarh cadre, he achieved an impressive 18th rank in the 2003 UPSC examination. According to several media reports, Kataria used to take a salary of only Rs 1 when he first started working as a government officer. He believed that he had joined the job to serve the country, and his biggest contribution was forgoing a salary.

Moreover it has been reported that IAS officer amit Kataria’s wife, Asmita Handa, is a commercial pilot and earns a salary in lakhs. Kataria often shares their photos on social media. Kataria is fond of travelling. There are many photos from his vacations on his instagram account. Kataria’s net worth is said to be around Rs 8.9 crore.
