Elon Musk's Starlink service will be launched in India..!?
Elon Musk's Starlink, which has been seeking permission from the central government for many years to provide satellite broadband services in india, has been a huge success. The government of india has decided to award the spectrum allocation for satellite internet service administratively rather than through auctions, the union minister said in a new twist. There was an argument that spectrum should be allocated for broadband service through satellite in the same way that spectrum is allocated for telecom services in India. As a result, Starlink, which came to india many years ago, returned with failure.
With this announcement, the Starlink service will be launched in india immediately. But the decision could be a major setback for jio and airtel, which are trying to offer broadband services through satellite. jio and airtel have made huge investments and alliances for this service. Similarly, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of india (TRAI) does not necessarily provide free spectrum, but necessarily on a fee basis, the price of which is set by TRAI. All these decisions are in line with the principles of the international Telecommunication Union (ITU).
Elon Musk tweeted about this on his Twitter. While Elon has tried several times to bring its business to india and met with failure, it is seen as an important change by the indian government after Trump's victory in the US presidential election.
