G GOWTHAM
No matter how educated you are, you can never purchase class and decency, as demonstrated by a graduate of India's premier medical school. According to a Bengaluru lady who goes online as Dr. Phoenix, her acquaintance was negotiating a marriage with a man who scored highest on the AIIMS admission exam. She adds that following their initial discussions, the topper's family sought an enormous dowry of ₹50 crore.

Everyone was taken aback by this because they had expected a more educated physician from AIIMS. This demand devastated the family since ₹50 crore would deplete all of their savings. The bride's parents, however, are reluctant to speak up or lodge a complaint. They acknowledged that paying a large dowry is frequently required when getting married in the telugu society.

When Dr. Phoenix posted on X, many people responded by sharing their own dowry experiences. people referred to the man as a "low life" and the behavior as utterly shameful. Some commenters, however, questioned the veracity of the article and defended the dowry culture by asserting that it is reciprocal. It demonstrates how deeply ingrained this poisonous culture has grown in indian society. Dr. Phoenix limited her posts as a result of the horrifying comments. However, the dowry controversy still raises questions.
