US Elections - When will the Official Counting of Votes Commence?

G GOWTHAM
There has been a good deal of drama and controversy surrounding this year's election. Everything has been building to the ultimate mandate before the end of the year, from Joe Biden stepping down to make room for Kamala harris as his successor to two assassination attempts against Donald Trump. On november 5, around two-thirds of the 244 million Americans who are eligible to vote typically cast ballots. Voting by mail will be permitted until november 25. In several states, in-person voting has already started since september 20.

However, a few states may hold the key to the white house in what might be one of the most closely contested US elections. For this reason, in the last days of the election season, both candidates are concentrating primarily on the seven battleground states. The formal tally of the electoral college votes will begin on january 6, 2025, the feared anniversary of the Capitol riots in the United States. The electoral college will cast their ballots on december 11.

By the end of the year, we will have a concept, but on january 20, 2025, America's next president will formally take office. Will Kamala harris make history as the nation's first female president and the first person of indian descent? Or will the oldest presidential contender in history, Donald Trump, tip her at the post?
