Manoj Jarange's big announcement regarding elections?

The demand for maratha reservation is the number one election issue in the state and it has already given a tough fight to the ruling Mahayuti during the 2024 lok sabha elections. maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange said that the total number of seats he will field candidates in the maharashtra assembly elections will be announced next week on the last day of filing nomination papers. He said that at present many candidates of the maratha community can file their nomination papers, but a decision will be taken later on which constituency will be contested and who will be made a candidate.
Demanding implementation of draft notifications
Jarange is demanding reservation for Marathas under the Other backward classes (OBC) category and implementation of draft notifications of gazettes of Hyderabad, bombay and Satara, in which the maratha community has been declared Kunbi. The Kunbis are an agricultural group that is eligible for reservation and other benefits under the OBC category.
Process of filing nomination papers on this date
On Sunday, he announced that he would field maratha candidates in the assembly elections in constituencies where the community has a strong presence. The process of filing nomination papers for the november 20 elections to the 288-member maharashtra assembly began on october 22 and will continue till october 29.
'Many maratha candidates may file their nominations'
Speaking to reporters at his native village Antarwali Sarti in Jalna district, Jarange said, "At present, many maratha candidates may file their nominations in each constituency in the state. We will discuss how many seats we will contest, but we will not announce anything today. We want to see their (ruling Mahayuti and opposition maha Vikas Aghadi's) list of candidates first."
