India is skillfully navigating a complex global landscape, balancing ties with both the east and West. At the BRICS summit, india stood alongside Russia’s Vladimir Putin and China’s Xi Jinping, even as china threatens war over taiwan and russia continues its invasion of Ukraine. Since 2022, india has capitalized on cheap Russian oil imports while maintaining its heavy reliance on Russian military hardware—around 70% of India’s defense equipment comes from Russia.

At the same time, india is strengthening ties with the West, particularly through initiatives like the Quad, which seeks to counter China's influence in the Indo-Pacific. Furthermore, india is enhancing relations with Iran, a nation at odds with the West over nuclear ambitions and tensions with Israel. By working on the development of Iran’s strategic Chabahar port, india gains access to crucial trade routes and expands its influence in the Middle East.
India's ability to balance these relationships is key to boosting its global standing. It uses platforms like BRICS to increase its diplomatic influence, while strategically managing its partnerships with russia, the U.S., and Iran, effectively walking the fine line between the east and West. India’s foreign policy is always centered around what’s best for the national interest!
