Families in South india were exhorted to increase their child count by Nara chandra babu Naidu. In response to concerns about South India's aging population, chandra babu encouraged families to increase the number of children they had. To control the population, the chief minister of andhra pradesh also intends to enact laws that would provide incentives for larger families.

Chandra Babu wants to propose legislation that will let people run for local body elections if they have more than two children. He had already put into effect a regulation that prohibited anybody with more than two children from running for municipal office; however, that law has since been removed. Other communities with 4 wives and 10 children and with each wife are increasing their population and Hindus and Christians meanwhile sticking to 1-2 children.

Chandra Babu Naidu talked about how the fertility rate in states in the South is dropping. The South is experiencing 1.6, compared to the national average of 2.1. "Despite having a demographic advantage, southern india, including andhra pradesh, is already seeing signs of an aging population," CBN stated. The previous time around, as chief minister, chandra babu Naidu provided incentives to couples who agreed to have more than two children.
