ALERT! Scammers Target Hard Earned Pensioners

G GOWTHAM
Scammers on the internet who pose as indian government officials now target retirees. Scammers are taking advantage of the situation as the deadline for submitting the jeevan Pramaan certificate draws near by sending phony messages that contain bogus links. They text the elderly people posing as government representatives, threatening to withhold their pension if they don't provide their personal information.

Individuals react fearfully without considering the veracity of the messages. Afterwards, fraud and identity theft are committed using the personal data. The indian government is alerting pensioners to this growing fraud immediately. Many individuals are falling for this scam out of fear of losing their sources of income. The elderly should be guided by their family not to give personal information on whatsapp or click on any dubious links.

The government made it very clear that social media should not be used to provide jeevan Pramaan certificates. Internet frauds have grown increasingly common among the older, technologically less adept and more susceptible segment of society. Particularly when it comes to financial stability, one should exercise caution. Retired people have become the new target of online scammers posing as indian government officials and agents.
