SRK Over Ranbir—Fair Game or Outrage Justified?

G GOWTHAM
Public outrage at the recent IIFA Awards has been focused on Shah Rukh Khan's triumph for Best Actor for "Jawan" rather than Ranbir Kapoor's performance in "Animal." people are voicing their complaints and casting blame on the IIFA's credibility on social media. Sanjay Gupta, the well-known indian filmmaker known for adapting hollywood movies, stated, "Nothing will expose the hypocrisy of award shows more than the fact that they do not give best actor to ranbir kapoor and best director to sandeep Vanga reddy for ANIMAL."

Some claim that despite the fact that Ranbir's performance in Animal was far better than SRK's in Jawan, SRK won Best Actor, not Ranbir, demonstrating the decay in the IIFA system that tends to value celebrity above genuine skill. Even if individuals tend to jump to conclusions too quickly, it's crucial to understand the bigger picture. After the outbreak, bollywood was woefully failing in the eyes of the public. The sector required a rescuer after a string of setbacks and little sign of recovery.

With the release of two consecutive hit films, jawaan and Pathaan, SRK proved to be the much-needed rescuer. After a protracted and exhausting period, these blockbusters not only revitalized bollywood but also drew audiences back into theaters, cementing SRK's status as the industry's unquestioned star of 2023. It is arguable that Shah Rukh Khan was the star of 2023, but as an actor, he certainly deserved more.
