VISA BAN - Are Indians the New Target?

G GOWTHAM
The Labour party is trying to make it easier to deport illegal immigrants since immigration to the UK is increasing. A prominent political person has declared a bold move to combat this issue in this context. The front-runner to replace Rishi Sunak as the Conservative Party's data-face, Robert Jenrick, has suggested a new limitation on visas for nations that refuse to accept the return of undocumented immigrants. He also mentioned india expressly in his statement.

He claims that of the approximately 250,000 indian people who were granted visas by the UK, 100,000 are still in the nation illegally. Jenrick asked to PM Starmer to impose harsh limits on visas and foreign aid on the back of it. In order to assist the return of undocumented immigrants, india and the UK signed a pact in 2021. That hasn't materialized, though, which has heightened international tensions.

It doesn't have a significant impact on the current climate, but it may become problematic in the future. Robert Jenrick will take on the job of opposition in the UK even if he is elected leader of the Conservative party on november 2. The Conservatives' devastating defeat earlier in the year has left them with little parliamentary voting power. indians are somewhat relieved that the Labour party is making an effort to address the immigration issue, even if their position is less extreme than Jenrick's.
