OMG! Trisha Krishnan Is Transphobic?

In the wake of her transphobic remarks incident, trisha krishnan is receiving extreme trolling for supposedly praising J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series. Since 2020, the author has made several remarks critical of the transgender community, for which celebrities including Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliff have voiced criticism.

As per a Reddit post, trisha shared Rowling’s X post on her instagram Story to extend her support and call her a ‘boss’. After a netizen wrote on X that they burnt Rowling’s books, the author replied, “I get the same royalties whether you read them or burn them. Enjoy your marshmallows.”

According to the Reddit thread, trisha posted about this exchange on her story with the comment, "Like a boss." However, as of the time this post was published, Trisha's narrative was not visible on her account. Many fans questioned whether trisha is transphobic or whether Rowling's remarks were merely a PR blunder and the actress was not aware of them.

One person wrote, “I wish I could earn money by doing literally nothing just like Trisha’s PR team.” Another added, “Why are people discounting the possibility that trisha could be a transphobe as well if not her SM manager maybe?” One Reddit user wrote, “I think this is more of a PR fail. trisha may not be aware of recent developments but her team should have known better!” Another added, “What a disappointment.”

For the unversed, back in 2020, JK Rowling reshared an essay on “people who menstruate”, taking issue with the fact that the word “women” was not used instead. “‘People who menstruate.’ I’m sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?” she wrote.
After receiving a lot of backlash for her remark, Rowling posted on X, “If sex isn’t real, there’s no same-sex attraction. If sex isn’t real, the lived reality of women globally is erased. I know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of sex removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives. It isn’t hate to speak the truth.”
