The issue of illegal construction in the mosque in Sanjauli, shimla, himachal pradesh is hot. The local administration has implemented Section 163 here and people are prohibited from gathering. The entire area has been converted into a cantonment. Despite this, protests were held here. The protest is going on from Dhalli tunnel to Sanjauli Chowk. What is the Sanjauli dispute?
This dispute is before 2010 when first a shop was built, but later a mosque was expanded in it. It is being said that the land on which the mosque is located belongs to the himachal pradesh government. However, the Imam claims that it is the property of the Waqf Board.
Hearing in the case is going on
Hearing in this case was held in the Municipal Corporation office on 7 September. From 2010 till now 45 hearings have been held. In this case, the lawyer of shimla Municipal Corporation, the lawyer of the Waqf Board and the lawyer of the local people appeared. During the hearing, the court asked the Waqf Board and the Masjid Committee how a one-storey mosque became a five-storey building. Let us tell you that by 2019, four floors were added to the mosque. The next hearing in the case will now be held on october 5. Amidst this controversy, himachal pradesh Director General of police Dr. Atul Verma said that we are considering it as a local dispute.
