Two years have passed since
august 25, when Vijay Devarakonda's Liger debuted in cinemas. With
puri jagannadh directing and
karan johar producing, this was one of Tollywood's largest and most ambitious projects when it was initially announced. Liger was meant to be Vijay's big pan-Indian debut, a new benchmark for the business. However, as the release date drew closer, things began to seem dire. The music, teaser, and trailer didn't create the excitement one would have thought for a production this size. There were rumors going around that Liger may not work out.
Dharma Productions shared several
posters wishing '2 Years of Liger' and fans of VD are badly disappointed with that. Despite these reservations, many clung to optimism. It felt like a winning combination to work with such a strong performer as Vijay
devarakonda and a
director like
puri Jagannadh. However, their aspirations were dashed on the first day. Not only was Liger a letdown, but it also turned out to be among the worst movies in recent memory. Despite having an enormous 125 crore budget, the film only managed to earn 50 crores at the box office.
Viewers were instantly reminded of the traumatic experience they had in the cinema. The comments area was overflowing with ironic remarks and jokes. Since fans were celebrating the anniversary of Vijay Devarakonda's beloved film
arjun reddy, the message had more impact. Their jubilation for
arjun reddy were disrupted when they saw the memory of the Liger catastrophe, which depressed them.
