Generally speaking, a single movie doesn't determine the success of a business, but 2024 hasn't been good for the industry as a whole. Other than movies like kalki, Hanuman, and Tillu Square, hardly a single other movie has had a big influence up to this point. It is that dire a scenario. Next up comes koratala Siva's big-budget film Devara, starring Jr. NTR. The picture is aimed at the hindi market and is being made on an epic scale, so koratala has a lot of pressure to do well.
Even if he makes a mediocre movie, it may still do well commercially in telugu because of the void, much to how a mediocre movie like kalki benefited from the box office. But since ntr does not have the same market appeal as prabhas in hindi, Devara will need to have great substance in order to succeed.
