Russia, Ukraine swap prisoners of war as Kyiv marks Independence Day
The 115 Ukrainian personnel who were let free, according to ukraine, were conscripts, many of whom had been captured during the initial months of Russia's incursion. Approximately fifty troops who were taken prisoner by Russian forces from the Azovstal steelworks in Mariupol are among them.

In the largest single release of POWs, russia and ukraine swapped hundreds of prisoners of war in january of last year.
