Polygraph Test On Main Accused Sanjay Roy Likely Today

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is set to conduct a polygraph test on Sanjay Roy, the primary suspect in the kolkata rape and murder case, today. This follows a special court in kolkata granting permission for the test after the brutal rape and murder of a junior doctor at RG Kar Hospital earlier this month.

On Saturday, the cbi carried out polygraph tests on six individuals, including Sandip Ghosh, who is also implicated in the case. The Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate’s (ACJM) court in Sealdah had approved the CBI’s request for the lie detector tests on Ghosh and five others, including a close associate of Roy, a civic volunteer, and four post-graduate medical students from RG Kar who were on duty the night of august 8-9.

In response to the incident, artists and politicians, including bjp leader Roopa Ganguly, held a protest at the West bengal Motion Picture Artists’ Forum in Tollygunge, Kolkata. The demonstrators, comprising individuals from various political backgrounds, demanded justice for the victim and called for severe punishment, including the death penalty, for those responsible. Ganguly also criticized West bengal Chief minister Mamata Banerjee, urging her to resign for her perceived failure to adequately address the case. The protest aimed to draw attention not only to the RG Kar Hospital incident but also to broader issues of safety and accountability.
