Harbhajan Appeals to West bengal governor and cm Over Delay in Justice
Former cricketer and AAP rajya sabha MP harbhajan singh has reached out to West bengal governor C v Ananda Bose and chief minister Mamata Banerjee, urging them to take prompt and decisive action in the rape-murder case involving a kolkata doctor.
"Deeply troubled by the delay in justice for the kolkata victim, an incident that has deeply affected us all, I have submitted a heartfelt request to the Hon’ble chief minister Ms. @MamataOfficial and Hon’ble @BengalGovernor, asking them to act swiftly and decisively," Singh stated in a post on X.
He emphadata-sized that women's safety and dignity are paramount, insisting that those responsible for this grievous crime must data-face the full force of the law, and their punishment should set a strong precedent.
"Only with such measures can we begin to rebuild trust in our system and prevent future tragedies, creating a society where every woman feels secure. We must ask ourselves, 'if not now, when?' The time for action is now," Singh asserted in his letter.
The former cricketer also shared a copy of his letter, addressed to "the government of West bengal, cbi, and Citizens of India," on X.
"I demand justice for the victim, a safer society, and positive change. I stand with the doctors in their pursuit of justice," he declared.
Singh urged both the West bengal government and the cbi to take immediate and decisive steps to ensure the perpetrators are swiftly brought to justice.
"Why only the West bengal government? Such incidents are frequently reported across the country and have become regular features in newspapers and tv programs," Singh wrote.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken over the probe into the alleged rape and murder of the doctor at the state-run R G Kar Medical college and Hospital in Kolkata.
