Difference between Independence Day & Republic Day flag hoisting..!?
We refer to flag hoisting on both Independence Day and Republic Day. But that is wrong, there is a major difference between hoisting the flag on Independence Day and unfurling the flag on Republic Day. The 78th Independence Day of the country is being celebrated today. As a result, all important government offices, schools, and colleges across the country are decorated with colorful lights and postures. This morning, prime minister Narendra Modi will hoist the national flag at the red Fort in delhi and address the nation. chief minister M. stalin hoists the flag at the Chief secretariat of tamil Nadu.
On Independence Day, the prime minister will hoist the flag at the red Fort in delhi and the respective Chief Ministers of the states. On Republic Day, the President of the Republic will hoist the flag in delhi and the Governors of the states will hoist the flag. The National Flag is hoisted from the flagpole on Independence Day. The national flag will be flown from below to commemorate India's full independence from colonial rule. But on Republic Day the flag is draped and tied on top of the flagpole. When you untie it, the flag will fly. The flag will be unfurled to signify that we will be freed from colonial rule and act as a sovereign and democratic republic in accordance with the Constitution of India.
Jawaharlal Nehru, then prime minister of india, hoisted the indian National Flag on 15th august when india became independent. President rajendra prasad unfurled the national flag on january 26, 1950, when the Constitution of india was adopted and became a republic. The flag will be hoisted at the red Fort in delhi on Independence Day and at Rajpath on Republic Day.
