Bengaluru People 'Stuck For More Than 3 Hours' As City Becomes An Ocean
Heavy rains early monday brought Bengaluru to a standstill with city streets resembling and residents struggling to cope. The downpour caused significant traffic snarls, making it nearly impossible for the vehicles to navigate the city. The Bengaluru traffic police has issued traffic advisories, warning commuters about the challenges posed by the waterlogged roads. Amid this, one commuter shared his ordeal on X, revealing he had boarded a bus from Electronic City to Silk Board at 5 am and was still stuck in traffic hours later, having not reached his destination even by 8 am.
Sridhar swaminathan replied to a post from the Madivala traffic police Station’s post on X, where they had issued a traffic advisory concerning severe waterlogging on city’s Hosur road. The post, written in Kannada, contained pictures and videos of vehicles struggling to navigate the flooded road and read: "Water inundation on Hosur's main road from from Bommanahalli to Silk Board Junction and from Silk Board Junction to Bommanahalli Rupena Agrahara.In and out of the city, motorcyclists use different routes. In response, swaminathan announced i he lamented and said, "The public has been stuck in the Electric City traffic since 5 o'clock. It will continue to reach the silk floors. More than 3 hours, you can manage the traffic better.
Bengaluru traffic police wrote: "What cooperation do you want sir. We have been stuck in the traffic since 05:30 AM. It goes straight to the Silk Board. people need patience, not cooperation. Please your persistence will help to fix the congestion instead of posting pictures after 2 hours.
In separate , swaminathan also discussed the problems data-faced by other people, especially the elderly, who find it more difficult to bear in the long run.
A user X joked about a photo showing long traffic lines, asking: "I hope you packed breakfast + lunch and maybe lunch for a long trip today?" swaminathan replied, "You can arrange your invitations. He had a very bad day. It takes 3 hours by bus from the Electric City to the Silk Road. There were many elderly passengers on the bus and it was very difficult for them."
According to the india Meteorological Department (IMD), Bengaluru is likely to witness light rain till 15th august and more rain will start from 16th august and continue till 17th August.
